Project Description
The Utah Department of Transportation (Department) will be seeking the services of a qualified CM/GC Contractor for a Construction Management/General Contractor (CM/GC) contract.
The Department will be seeking responses to this Solicitation from CM/GC Contractors who are qualified and prepared in all respects to undertake the design and construction of the Aqueduct Relocation SR-154; 4100 S to 3100 S project. This requires the CM/GC Contractor to provide a Proposal in response to this Solicitation. The project includes installation of a new 66-inch diameter welded steel pipe on the east side of Bangerter Highway at the 4100 South interchange and from 3500 South to 3100 South, which is the Relocated Jordan Aqueduct (JA). This work is to be performed while maintaining the existing 66-inch diameter Jordan Aqueduct and prior to roadway construction of Bangerter Highway and the new interchanges and grade separation. The portion of the JA north of 3100 South to just north of Parkway Boulevard requires protection in place. As a result of the JA relocation, there are two Jordan Aqueduct vaults that require relocation; one at 4100 South which includes a 66-inch mainline valve, the second is a turnout for service to Granger Hunter Improvement District (GHID) located north of 3500 South. Along with these two major vaults, there is anticipated replacement of appurtenance structures including air valve vaults, manway access vaults, drains and blow-off structures. At Parkway Boulevard the existing vault requires modifications to the access hatches and above ground features. In addition, there are cathodic protection facilities that require relocations. Work may include but is not limited to:
1. Procurement of large diameter pipeline, mainline butterfly valve and all other equipment and materials required for construction.
2. Installation of approximately 6,800 linear feet of new 66-inch diameter welded steel pipeline.
3. Installation of three casings for crossings of 4100 South, 3500 South and 3100 South, trenchless methods will be required for some or all of these crossings.
4. Construction of a new relocated 3500 South GHID Turnout Vault, including installation of new 30-inch welded steel piping.
5. Coordination of shut down requirements with Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District and the Bureau of Reclamation tie-ins of the newly installed segments of aqueduct.
6. Traffic control and coordination for the tie-ins of the relocated aqueduct segments within Bangerter Highway.
7. Reconstruction and restoration of cathodic protection facilities on both the existing and relocated JA.
8. Removal of pedestrian bridge ramps on the east side of Bangerter Highway.
9. Anticipated project completion in February/March 2028.
